CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announced that the full schedule of events for West Virginia's 150th birthday celebration at the State Capitol is available online at www.wv150.com. At the same website, the public can watch a preview of "150 in 3-D: A Century and a Half of West Virginia Pride," the 3-D building-projection video that will bring the Capitol's south face to life during the birthday celebration.

"We are celebrating our statehood with world-class entertainment, family-friendly fun, and events that showcase our West Virginia traditions-like the Vandalia Gathering's liar's contest, music, crafts and more," Gov. Tomblin said.  "Joanne and I look forward to joining West Virginians from around the state for four days of fun at the Capitol. We hope to see you there."

The birthday video, "150 in 3-D," will use state-of-the-art technology to project a fast-paced, fun-filled 3-D animation directly onto the south face of West Virginia's Capitol. The 3-D video celebrates great West Virginians and iconic images from the state's history.

Three-dimensional building projections have headlined recent celebrations around the world, including the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace and New Year's Eve in New York City. The 150th birthday festivities will bring this spectacular art form to the Mountain State for the first time ever.
